Programming your mind for success | Carrie Green | TEDxManchester

Here's a great talk by Carrie Green on the secret of success.

Carrie talks about how people perceive  a situation. She asks people to come to the front.
For some people, the voice in the heads talk about the fear, the worry, the doubt. For others about the exciting opportunity.

Whats going in your mind determines the  opportunities you will have.
Sometimes we have negative thoughts - I cant do that. I don't have the money. I'll do it tomorrow.

She talks about starting her mobile phone unlocking business, asking for help and being an entrepreneur.
She talks about being lonely and  her negative mind and how even 3 months of travel didn't help.

She then had two positive insights.

1) Michael Gerber in his book the e-myth.
He talks about imagining walking into a room where your friends and family are, and  you  see a box, then you realise it is your funeral.
What kind of things do you want them to say about the kind of life you lived,  the kind of person you were and the kind of things you achieved?

2) Anthony Robbins said -Your destiny is determined by the choices you make. Chose now and  choose well.

If you want to achieve an amazing life, you need to decide the kind of person you want to be. Program your mind.
She loved being an entrepreneur  and  solving problems, So what did she do?

1)She replaced her negative thoughts with positive ones. She would help connect and  inspire female entrepreneurs.

2)Visualisation - she focused on her goals, seeing everything in detail.
She created a wish list of all the authors she wanted to have on her new magazine. She printed them out and put them on her wall and made it happen.
She wanted to talk in the house of comments. She made it happen..

3)She made some crazy goals and  got her mind to make it happen.

Succces is no accident. You must know the kind of person you  want to be and then make it happen.
You have the power to control of your thoughts.

5 Body Language Tricks To Make Anyone Instantly Like You

Wouldn't it be  great if you could create instant rapport. Wouldn't it be great to make anyone instantly like you? Here are 5 body language tricks to do just that.

5 Body Language Tricks To Make Anyone Instantly Like You - Free English Lessons There's no question that body language is important, you can capture - and hold - anyone's attention without even saying a word. We've selected some of the best body language techniques and shared them through this lesson: The Flooding Smile "Don't flash an immediate smile when you greet someone," If you do, it appears as if anyone in your line of sight would receive that same smile. Instead, pause and look at the other person's face for a second, and then let a "big, warm, responsive smile flood over your face and overflow into your eyes." Even though the delay is less than a second, it will convince people your smile is sincere and personalized for them. According to Lowndes, a slower smile can add more richness and depth to how people perceive you. Sticky Eyes Pretend your eyes are glued to your conversation partner's with sticky warm taffy, Even after they've finished speaking, don't break eye contact. "When you must look away, do it ever so slowly, reluctantly, stretching the gooey taffy until the tiny string finally breaks." This technique will help you appear more intelligent and insightful. The Big-Baby Pivot People are very conscious of how you react to them. When you meet someone new, turn your body fully toward them and give them the same, undivided attention you would give a baby.Pivoting 100% towards the new person shouts, 'I think you are very, very special.'" Limit the Fidget If you want to appear credible, try not to move too much when your conversation really matters. "Do not fidget, twitch, wiggle, squirm, or scratch, Frequent hand motions near your face can give your listener the feeling that you're lying or anxious. Instead, simply fix a constant gaze on the listener and show them that you're fully concentrated on the matter at hand. Using your hands Use you hands to create appropriate gestures. Hand movements help you to get the words out of your mouth accelerating your thought process. Do not cross your hands while speaking, It passes a signal that your are disinterested in a conversation.
